How do you make an abstract subject like human rights tangible? This is Amnesty International's big challenge every time they make a public appearance.
CREATION
Originally we created 8 different human sized candles, 3 meters by 1.4 meters. Each with its own purpose and functionality. All made so that they can flourish individually and accentuate each other in group formation.

THE CHALLENGE
Making a life size iconic visual depiction
of Amnesty International. Making them functional and interactive in the public domain. A set up which can be build up at multiple types of locations either individually positioned or placed as a group.

We now have developed a strong visual rendering of the Amnesty International Logo. There original were 8 and have been put into multiple sorts of functionality over the years.

We make use of materials which have previously had a different purpose or life.

CORE MATERIALS
Material 1 : Iron
Iron, a steel basic frame to ensure the total structure stands alone strong and sturdy. The steel had been sourced at a metal recycling plant and other old projects we have been involved in.
Material 2 : Wood
Wood in multiple forms. Some parts sourced from previous projects. Some wood sourced from reliable eco friendly lumber mills. All original wood used are still in the candles used today. That’s going into 8 seasons now.

At every venue we have to see whether the public can experience the candle in its optimal form. We have to consider the maximum impact the candle has on the audience in the name of Amnesty International and its values.

Our team has been devoted to Amnesty since 2015. We all have strong bonds to its purpose and core values. Our team comes together, works together, keeping our sama sama flow organic and wholesome.
Individually uniquely skilled, collectively working together for the bigger goal.

Our boat won the award.
For Shrinking Space, we designed Amnesty’s boat for Gay Pride 2018.
We created a visual theater play and split our boat into two halves: one with dictators like Putin and Xi Jinping, and the other with gay rights activists.
On a day that is all about celebration, we managed to draw attention to a serious issue. And we won the top prize for best design while doing it.
We’re very proud of that, but most of all we love working for Amnesty because it makes us part of something bigger, thus making a meaningful contribution to the world.
